Bolton born 29 y/o Khan wants to fight on early of January 2017. He's now recovering from a successful right hand surgery.
He is expecting to have a tune up bout in his home soil UK once fully recovered. (A win over Julio Diaz on April of 2013 was his last in UK)
Khan jumped up two weight divisions and faced middleweight champion Saul Alvarez last May. The bout ended with a brutal KO care of Alvarez in 6th.
Amir Khan promised to come back on track and revive his boxing career.
Khan's statement from SunSport
“I want to fight again in January, then in May and again before the end of 2017."
“I’m going to start training and make sure my hand is fully recovered. I don’t want to rush into a fight at the end of this year."
“I want my next fight to be in Britain. I know it’s going to have to be a tune-up having lost the Canelo fight and also having had the hand surgery."
He will rollback down to welterweight and he still undecided on who he will be facing.
