Juan Manuel Marquez 56-7-1 (40 KOs) |
The 43 year old Mexican warrior just returned last week to conditioning
sessions with his trainer. He will be in the camp until December with Memo
Heredia in Mexico.
“We have been
training with Memo in the gym, more on fitness than anything else, the body is
responding well, but I will not make the decision to return until my body tells
me how well I feel,” – Marquez
Marquez still wants to fight and shows passion in doing his 65th professional bout.
“I want to do
everything I can [to get ready]. I don’t want to retire and then return. If the
body responds well, we are going to make a comeback; I have the desire to do a
retirement fight,” – Marquez on ESPN
Due to injuries that he suffered from the past, he is inactive in the ring since May 2014. Though he’s back now in the camp, Marquez is still undecided. Everything will be depending on how will his body reacts.
"I feel good,
but let’s see how my body responds when I go to the gym, when I have to train
every day, when we do double sessions, six to eight hours of work a day. Right
then we’ll decide what comes next, but we want to make that [last] fight,” – Marquez
Pacquiao and Cotto were cited as his potential opponents. As of this moment, it’s still unsure on who will be his dancing mate for his final performance. But in my opinion, a 5th bout with Pacquiao would be more attention-grabbing.
