History
has been made in a jam-packed Madison Square Garden Arena in New York. As
McGregor defeats Alvarez in a satisfying fashion and now holds two belts from
two different weight divisions…No man has ever done in UFC history.
Enough
said, McGregor is the new face of today’s mix martials arts. He improved his
professional record to 21-3 by butchering Alvarez in just two rounds.
Obviously,
Alvarez can’t take McGregor’s power and doesn’t have an answer to his sweet but
deadly combinations. Alvarez dropped three times in first round.
Many
thought that it was the end of the fight, including myself. But miraculously,
Alvarez survived the onslaught.
So
McGregor made some adjustment and terminated Alvarez in 2nd round
instead.
The
Notorious steps and stroll inside the octagon with high level of self-trust. He
knew that he’ll be facing another champion and a title holder in the name of
Eddie Alvarez.
But
behind the scene, for the Notorious, this is just a walk in a park. This is
like a short walk from his hotel room to the arena. Then get strap with two
different championship belts on his shoulders.
There’s
no question that McGregor is really a fantastic fighter. His performance
tonight was banged-up.
He placed
an exciting action in every second of the fight and set up a good conclusion to
end up the show.
He will
surely rejoice the moment of having two belts added on his resume.
And from
my own perspective, he also now holds his future on who, where and when to
fight next.
