A Mexican
mega bout is bound to materialize as Chavez Jr finally reaches to terms and
signs the dotted line.
The two
Mexican stars will finally square off in Cinco de Mayo special event. This is
going to be a really huge match. This will make attract millions of fans around
the world.
The fight
was confirmed by Dela Hoya and his pupil Canelo Alvarez via twitter.
“It's official. My next fight will be vs Chavez Jr on May
6th. This is how I operate. Proving myself in the ring and shutting him up.”– Canelo Alvarez
Both
sides have agreed to meet at a catch weight of 164.5 pounds. That will make
Canelo (48-1-1) moves up 10.5 lbs (from 154 lbs) and Chavez Jr (50-2-1) goes
down 3.5 lbs (from 168 lbs)
By facing
Canelo on Cinco de Mayo, Chavez Jr will take $6 Mil plus PPV percentage per
source. Canelo’s fight purse hasn’t publicized yet.
