Pacquiao-Khan is called off after promoters got tricked by a $38 Million deal

The super fight between Pacquiao and Khan isn’t going to happen. Not now and not even on April.

Both fighters have confirmed the match on social media. Pacquiao and Khan had stated that terms have been reached.

“Negotiations between team Pacquiao and team Khan have come to terms for April 23 bout as this is what the fans wanted #PacquiaoKhan” – Manny Pacquiao via Twitter

“My team an I have agreed terms with Manny Pacquiao and his team for a super fight #PacquiaoKhan #April23rd” – Amir Khan on Twitter

A reported $38 Million offer was made by unnamed investment group in UAE. But after all the talks, everything turned out be a scam.  On Tuesday, Top Rank’s Bob Arum announced that the fight is dead.

“Manny wanted to roll the dice. He rolled the dice and it came up snake eyes. If something is too good to be true, it is too good to be true. The deal is done for now. Pacquiao and Michael were talking to the wrong people” – Bob Arum

At the beginning of the negotiation, Arum was doubtful in the offer. Said it’s unreal.

When they contacted me, I told them it was pie in the sky that this is crazy, it is not going to happen.” Bob Arum

Now that they’ve closed the gates for Pacquiao-Khan fight, Bob Arum has another idea to work on.

“I’m talking to him (Pacquiao) about another proposal for another fight, not Khan. Khan won’t be Manny’s next opponent.” – Bob Arum

There are some reports circulating that what Manny really want is a fifth clash with rival Juan Manuel Marquez.

But Team Pacquiao is having a stiff time to lure the Mexican warrior to sign the deal. Marquez had stated before that he won’t settle to any terms to fight Manny again even if there’s a $100 Million check for him.

#Sportstalk247 believes that Arum may push for Jeff Horn, a professional boxer from Australia who is mysterious to some boxing fans instead.

Other possible foes for Pacquiao are Terence Crawford and Adrien Broner.
