Canelo Alvarez hits back the gym in groundwork for his September contest

On May 6th, GBP has announced that Alvarez-Golovkin is finalized and will be going down on Sept 16th at venue yet to be determined.

The announcement came right after Canelo’s 36-minute torture of Chavez Jr.

Canelo’s coach and manager Eddy Reynoso has confirmed that his student is now back in the gym doing some light boxing workout in groundwork for the most anticipated match against middleweight solid hitter Gennady Golovkin (37-0 33 KOs).

Team Canelo will be in Guadalajara for the month of June and will advance doing the drill in Los Angeles by July to August.

"We are already training, running, and we'll go to Los Angeles in the month of July. We will be there for all of July, August and from there that will take us to September," – Eddy Reynoso

This is going to be Canelo’s third try at the middleweight division but will be his first bout at the full middleweight limit of 160-pounds. His past middleweight battles were at catch-weight of 155.

The two will be fighting for the WBA, WBC, IBO and IBF middleweight title belts.

Meanwhile, per Abel Sanchez, they will start working by July and will have full 8 concentrated weeks to tune Gennady.
