Conor McGregor bags $34 Million total earnings |
Forbes has recently released their top highest-paid
sportspersons in the world. The list includes athletes from diverse 11 sports.
Currently the
NBA grips the record for having the most athletes who made the cut at 32 (Top
100). The previous record was held by NFL for the most athletes at 30 back in
2012.
Football
super star Cristiano Ronaldo remains
at #1 spot for two successive years. Making a staggering $93 Mil total pay (Salary/Winnings: $58
Mil Endorsements: $35 Mil). Followed by LeBron
James #2 with $86 Mil.
Roger Federer is the lone Tennis star on Top 10
list. Ranking at #4 with overall earnings of
$64 Mil.
And for the
first time in history,
an MMA fighter made the cut on top 25. UFC’s Conor McGregor tied at #24 with Gareth Bale having total earnings of $34 Mil.
Meanwhile,
the unbeaten Floyd “Money” Mayweather,
who held the highest spot for couple of years, didn’t make the cut due to
inactivity for the past 12 months. But if a rumored “Million Dollar” fight with
mix martial artist Conor McGregor materialized,
he will surely be back on the top spot.
Canelo Alvarez #43, Anthony Joshua #89 and Wladimir Klitschko #98 are the only boxers on the list.
