Breaking a record in UFC won’t be
happening this weekend in Edmonton Alberta as Ray Borg (11-2) has withdrawn
from the card.
Demetrious Johnson is eyeing to break
the most consecutive title defenses in UFC history. He’s currently tied with
legendary Anderson Silva at 10.
Borg was labeled unfit and forced to remove
from the fight due to illness by the UFC doctors. Some sporting outlets says
that it’s all because of his effort to cut some weight before the fight night
but it was immediately denied by his nutritionist.
Because of the cancellation, the women’s
bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko will serve
as the new main event.
Johnson must wait for another months
or year for his history-making event to happen.
According to report, there’s no
finalized plan yet for re-scheduling the cancelled event but Demetrious Johnson
believes that the organization will work on this matter as soon as possible.
