UFC 218: Detroit to host Max Holloway vs Frankie Edgar

The biggest mix martial arts organization is back in Detroit as the most populous city in the United States will be hosting UFC 218 Max Holloway vs Frankie Edgar.

The Little Caesars Arena in Michigan was chosen as the venue of the said event to be held on December 2.

Max Holloway (18-3) will be defending his featherweight strap (145-pound) for the first time since taking it from Jose Aldo (who held the belt for almost 10 years) during the UFC 212 main event back in June.

The Hawaiian native had a very outstanding performance from his last two fights (UFC212: Aldo | UFC206: Pettis) and is currently ridding on a 11-fight win streak.

Max’s last doomed octagon drive was in UFC Fight Night in 2013 in the hands of Conor McGregor (Split Decision).

For Frankie Edgar (22-5), he is very grateful and elated to get back on a title fight. This is the spot where he was a few years back.

At 35, the former lightweight champ and a multiple-time featherweight challenger isn’t yet ready to walk away from eight-sided circle. He just came from an impressive victory against Yair Rodriguez last May at UFC 211.

The UFC 218 card includes some exciting matches from different UFC divisions like heavyweight clash between Alistair Overeem – Francis Ngannou, battle of TUF coaches Eddie Alvarez – Justin Gathje and lastly, Henry Cejudo – Sergio Pettis.
