Miguel Cotto is scheduled for a world title fight on June 24th. Possible locations revealed

Four weight classes title owner Miguel Cotto (40-5 33 KOs) eyes a world title fight on June 24th.

The date was revealed by Bryan Perez, the head executive of MG Promotions after a discussion with Roc Nation, Miguel Cotto’s promoter.

"June 24 is the date that Roc Nation has pointed out for Miguel's return. The details of the opponent and the television network is what's missing. But that is the date they have given us," - Bryan Perez

Per Bryan, some potential sites for the June 24th title fight were also been discussed during the dialogue.

"As for the possible locations, Roc Nation executives have pointed out that there is a variety available. They talked about New York, Dallas (Texas), Las Vegas and even Orlando (Florida). There are at least four cities available for June 24 although our preference would be New York and that was our request," - Bryan Perez

The 36 years old Puerto Rican hero, who was last seen in action against Canelo Alvarez (900k PPV buys), says that 2017 will be his last year in boxing as a fighter and wants to have two to three more fights before calling it a career.

“This is the last year of my career and I want to end my career in the best way possible,” “I knew I wanted to come back and this is the way that I want to do it. I want to have two or three fights this year. We will see.” - Miguel Cotto

Cotto was supposedly scheduled to fight James Kirkland on February 25th in Texas, but was cancelled due to nose injury sustained by Kirkland during his preparation for the said bout.

After the fall out, Cotto is actively looking for the best possible opponent available in the market.

“I’m always looking for the best name out there,” “We have to wait and see. … I’m here for the best fights.” – Miguel Cotto

Some names were dropped, but no serious negotiation is happening. It includes Gennady Golovkin, Andy Lee, Timothy Bradley and Canelo Alvarez.
Even Juan Manuel Marquez sends interest in staging a fight with Cotto at 147 weight limit.

For the June 24th event, it’s still unsure whether Miguel Cotto will be fighting on Pay-Per-View or just a regular HBO show.
