Boxing’s only 8 division world
champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao wants to fight returning undefeated Floyd “Money”
Mayweather (49-0) next after his bout with Australia’s Jeff Horn in Brisbane on
July 2.
Though Pacquiao is very vocal about
his interest on Mayweather rematch, he insisted that he’s focused on his July 2
clash with Horn.
“If there’s a chance, why not? I’m willing but let’s focus
first on this fight. We don’t want to underestimate Horn thinking about another
fight. This fight is not done yet,” “I just focused on this fight, not anything
on future fights or future plans.” –

But for Freddie Roach, he must perform
well and close the bout with Horn in a fashionable way to get back on
Mayweather’s track. He must impress the fans and end his knockout drought.
“Manny’s in a must-win situation. He wants a rematch with
Mayweather. To get Mayweather he must look good against Jeff Horn. He has to
look good, he has to be impressive,” –

Pacquiao looks great whenever he
steps in the ring. He will surely perform
on Brisbane this coming weekend but don’t expect to see “Young Manny” again. He’s
already 38 and his age is taking his skills away from the ring.
On fighting Mayweather for second
time around, I don’t think Floyd will grant his request. Floyd already got what
he wanted. Pacquiao became his 48th victim and got paid enough to go
around the world for 100 years.
Pacquiao made a couple of blunders
back in May 2015 when he handled Floyd. He fought Mayweather with shoulder
injury and signed the contract without a rematch clause. If Pacquiao is
expecting to score a win against Floyd Mayweather with just a one hand, that
sounds insane to me.
Pacquiao should have rescheduled the
fight and get back to business at 100 percent. He never hurt Floyd Mayweather. He
misses that opportunity.
Now it has been two years since the
fight took place. Tagged as “Fight of the Century” that made over $600 Million
in revenue. Everyone were gratified by the result on the business side but
except for the fans who forced to pay a thousand bucks just to witness something
unglamorous.
