Monstrous Destruction: Inoue batters Donaire and unifies bantamweight division

Inoue - Donaire II Saitama Japan

Naoya “The Monster” Inoue, who is currently rated 3rd on The Rings pound for pound list boosts his record to 23-0 and solidified his claim as top bantamweight fighter after dealing with Donaire on their rematch Tuesday night at Super Arena in Saitama Japan.

Inoue caught and floored Donaire in the opening round with seconds left and then he decked him again heavily in the second round after a series of vigorous hooks and combinations to close out the show at 1:24.

“Thank you so much everyone, I did it. In the very first round I seen the left hook from Nonito, and that punch made me wake up. To be able to raise my status, I needed to win, so I just decided to finish this fight” Naoya Inoue

The Monster showcased an excellent performance, and his power was too much for the 39-yeard-old Nonito to handle. The second round of their match was all hard to watch.

Donaire confessed veering off strategy against the Japanese boxing sensation.

"Brawlers gonna brawl. It's part of me. We came in with a good game plan, But I got so caught up with wanting to brawl, and that's my biggest flaws. I love brawling. It's hard for me to go and change that overnight. That was the biggest mistake that I did." Nonito Donaire

After the beating, Inoue just added another belt to his possession the WBC and now has insight in becoming undisputed in his respective division.

A potential showdown with England’s native Paul Butler is imminent who holds the missing piece in this division’s puzzle.
